It
is often proposed that a non-figurative artist renounces the tangible and
descends into himself, preferring his inner fantasies to so-called external reality. However, it is a strict fidelity to the so-called real, to life as it is lived, that enables such an artist to dispose of models, of subjects demanding representation. Instead, the life that has been lived, touched, tasted, heard, remembered… passes through the artist and appears, on the other side, as art. |
